Haltom City Police Department Solar Parking

Parking Structure PV System

Industry Leader - First parking solar structure project in the United States.

August 2019, Mechatron  installed 6 Dual-Axis Trackers with a 200KWdc photovoltaic system in the parking lot of a commercial building in Burlingame, California.

Key technical points:

 >99.9% uptime

  • The M18KD-20 tracker tilt capacity is limited to 20 degrees on the zenith axis in order to limit its platform distance from the parking pavement by at least 9.5 feet as required by the local jurisdiction.
  • The tilt of the canopy is 7 degrees and its azimuth orientation +35 degrees matching the orientation of the available parking lot at the project location
  • The shading effect on vehicles of the trackers is superior to the static carports given the nature of the system and its constant movement following the sun orbit throughout the day all year long.

Benefits:

  • Mechatron Proposes 5 dual axis tracker/carport Solar System
  • Plated Capacity 220 Kw
  • Cost savings over fixed array and carport structure > 50%
  • Power Production versus fixed array > 85% more production
  • 20-year cost avoidance >$2,000,000

Optional Battery Storage System available – 24 hr renewable
